Abilities are skills that the player can use in battle. In battle, Players can have up to five Abilities to use, with Attack set as the default Ability which cannot be replaced with any other Abilities, except through the use of Special Abilities. Players can obtain more Abilities through unlocking them in their Classes' Growth Rings, or through obtaining Weapon Gear with Special Abilities. Abilities from a Class can be used by any other Class once unlocked, except for Abilities from the Advanced Classes. Certain Status Ailments may hinder or prevent players from using their Abilities.

Ability Mechanics[]
Ability Cost[]
Most Abilities come with a required amount of Ability Cost in order for players to be able to use them in battle. As Ability Cost regenerates over time during a battle, players are not able to use Abilities until they have enough Cost to do so.
Ability Cooldown[]
All Abilities come with a set Ability Cooldown. These cooldowns are applied whenever an Ability is used. Players are not able to use the Ability again during the duration of the displayed cooldown period even if they have enough cost to be able to use the Ability. Players are only able to use the Ability again upon the completion of the cooldown timer's countdown.
Certain Status Buffs are able to reduce the cooldown times of Abilities.
Combos[]
Some Abilities can combo with each other when these Abilities are used in succession. Abilities that have combo effects will have a COMBO symbol present when using a prior Ability that can combo. Using both will activate their normal and combo effects.
Combos are only tied to a player's own combo activators and cannot combo with the player's Quest members.
Kinds of Abilities[]
Advanced Class Abilities[]
Certain Abilities are unlocked upon unlocking the Advanced Classes. These Abilities can only be used by the Ability's base class, and will automatically unequip when the player switches to a different class.
Rear Guard Abilities[]
Rear Guard Abilities are Abilities only available to the guild members of the Rear Guard during a Guild Battle. These abilities temporarily replace the last three Abilities of a player and can be used to support the surviving members of the Vanguard during the battle. These abilities cannot be used during Crystal Assaults and Recovery Modes of a battle, or if the member of the Rear Guard is currently defeated.
Special Abilities[]
Special Abilities or Standard-Ability-Changing Abilities are able to replace a player's basic Attack when equipped. These Special Abilities can be found in certain Weapon Gear, and can only be obtained through Events and Spawns. They can only be unlocked and equipped when the Ability Weapon Gear is in the main or sub slot, not needing to be equipped into any specific slot in order to be able to equip the Ability. When the Ability Weapon Gear is removed, the Special Ability will be locked again. Weapon Gear with Special Abilities can be determined by the "" icon present in their Gear icon. Most of these Abilities are Class-specific, with each Ability exclusive to certain Classes. They can only be equipped in the standard Attack slot, making it impossible to equip more than one Special Ability.
Special Abilities can be seen with these frames at the Abilities menu if players have their corresponding Weapon Gear equipped.
During Guild Battles, these Abilities will be replaced by Guild Bond upon entering Recovery Mode and reverts back into the Ability once Recovery Mode is over.
