Guild Battles, Battle Colosseum, and other player-versus-player events are not affected by Elemental Attack.
Elemental Defense[]
Elemental Defense or Elemental Damage Reduction are parameters that are found on each element and decreases the damage done by attacks of the element which they are effective against. See Elemental Relationships for the effectiveness of each element. It is used to calculate how much damage is reduced against physical and magical attacks of certain elements. Higher Elemental Defense on a certain element will mean greater damage reduction for the element it is effective against. These parameters on Gear may vary depending on the Gear piece's availability and rarity.

- ↑ Only Cosmetic Shop Gear that are originally from Gem Spawns on either Global or Japanese versions of the game may have 1 Elemental Defense for each Element.
Damage reduction against an element the Elemental Defense is effective against will mainly be against attacks from Monsters in Quests that have an element. Unison Attacks in Guild battles, Colosseum, and other player-versus-player scenarios will also be affected by Elemental Defense. Damage from regular Abilities in player-versus-player scenarios will not be reduced. Players' damage reduction figures may vary between Quests, Guild battles, the Colosseum, and other events.
The damage players will incur depends on their DEF and MDEF stats, elemental damage reduction, and various other factors, so the total Elemental Defense players have for a certain element itself is not the exact figure of damage reduction you will have against that element.
Elemental Defense will not affect fixed or proportional damage. (Example: attacks that reduce a player's HP by %, etc.)
Other ways to obtain Elemental Defense are through Pets.
